Letter: Congress sides with bankers

We have learned that the total amount of the banking bailout is $7.6 trillion. This is outrageous. Why should the American taxpayers shovel any money into private Wall Street banks? It is tantamount to nationalizing our banking system. Adolf Hitler nationalized the German banking system in the 1930s in his march toward power. The same thing is happening to the American banking system right now.

In 1910, the U.S. Congress voted to allow the trillionaire bankers to own the Federal Reserve Bank, which was previously a public central bank owned by the American people. Since 1910, the Fed has become a private bank, owned by trillionaire bankers who mostly live in Europe. With the banking bailout bill, the Congress has now, again, sided with the trillionaire bankers against the citizens of the United States of America.

We the people are on our own now. What are we going to do about it?
