Red Bluff man dies of gunshot wound
A Red Bluff man died of a gunshot wound Sunday, July 18, but investigators are not revealing the nature of the death — only that the investigation is ongoing.
A call to the Red Bluff police Tuesday was not immediately returned.
Police responded to an apartment complex on the 400 block of Jackson Street, where they found Michael Steven Gregg inside an apartment, unresponsive and having suffered from an apparent gunshot wound, according to a statement released by the department.
Officers attempted CPR on Gregg until emergency medical personnel arrived. However, the life-saving efforts were unsuccessful and Gregg was pronounced dead at the scene.
The California Department of Justice and the Tehama County District Attorney's Office have joined the investigation.
Anyone with information, is asked to call the Police Department at 527-3131.
