July 30/June 26 Registration - Screening for Cancer Offered

A free Breast Cancer Screening for qualifying women 40-years, and over, is being offered. Women must pre-register no later than June 26, 2008 for the screening, which will take place on Wednesday, July 30, at Mercy Regional Cancer Center, 2175 Rosaline Ave., in Redding.

After age 40, a mammogram is highly recommended. Mammography is an X-ray of the breast and can be a powerful way to detect breast cancer in its earliest, most treatable stage.

To find out if you qualify for this state-funded program, please call Mercy Medical Center at (530) 24-MERCY (246-3729).  Appointments are limited.

Same-sex slapdown
What's your reaction to the state Supreme Court upholding the ban on same-sex marriage?
I'm glad to see the will of the majority of voters was supported.
I don't agree with it. Equal rights should be for all Californians.
