Letter: Proven candidate the better choice

Let us hurry and elect retired Superintendent Larry Aceves,to California's top education administrative post, Superintendent of Public Instruction. The other candidate is a mere politician of Contra Costa County.

Mr. Aceves has served in school districts up and down the state and did serve as President of the Association of California School Administrators. The other candidate did try to represent Contra Costa County in the legislature, but failed to adopt timely-budgets during 14 years and supported measures taxing-parcels, based on 35-year-old assessed valuations.

Help block the politicians and special interests from capturing this office for one of their allies. As a 40-year resident of Contra Costa County, my vote is for Larry Aceves, a proven school superintendent/administrator.
