Chamber of Commerce updates

Recent Corning Chamber of Commerce news.

• New Member – The Corning Chamber would like to welcome new member: Ann’s Dance Workshop, 1518 – B, Solano Street in Corning. Phone 824-4750

• Correction – In last week’s article the phone number for new member Sheree Ingram was incorrect. The correct number is 824-6691. We are sorry for the error.

• Corning in the Evening – You are invited to come out at 5:30 p.m. tomorrow, for the monthly get together and mix with other business people and interested citizens. The Comfort Inn, 910 Hwy 99W, will be hosting the event. Bring your business card for a chance to win a door prize. Refreshments will be served.

• Business Spotlight – Patterson Electric, P.O. Box 906, in Corning, has been chosen as the Chamber’s Business of the Week. Patterson Electric started business in 1987 by Art Patterson who retired four years ago and sold the business to his son, John Patterson, who was born and raised here in Corning and is married to Amanda Patterson who works at a local Corning Bank. John worked for a Chico based electrical company for five years as Assistant Service Manager and Estimator and received his electrical license in December 2004, when he took over for his father. Patterson Electric services Redding to Yuba City and does residential as well as commercial servicing. Congratulations to John who was voted “Tehama County’s Best Electrician” in March of this year. If you need an electrician you may reach Patterson Electric at 824-1023.

• Miss Corning – If you are interested or know of anyone who is interested in running for Miss Corning there will be a meeting at 1 p.m., Tuesday, June 24, at the Chamber of Commerce 1110 Solano St. For more information call 824-5550. The Miss Corning Program will be the weekend before the Olive Festival and the new Miss Corning will begin her reign that week, attending all the Olive Festival events from Aug. 20 through the Aug. 23.

• Huge Yard Sale – From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, June 14, P.A.T.H. is having a yard sale at 13785 Trinity Ave., (Out on Antelope Blvd. Just past 5 Star Gas Station. Look for the big arrow), in Red Bluff. There will be furniture, glassware, collectables, and much more. To donate items, (no clothing please) or for more information call Allene Dering at 529-5599 or Chris Shults at 527-5569.

• Ice Cream Social – Don’t forget the El Camino United Methodist Church ice cream social at 7 p.m., Friday, June 13, at 8345 Hwy 99W in Gerber. There will be homemade ice cream, desserts and music.
