Briefs: Fly-in set for Saturday
The 17th annual Old Time Fly-in is Saturday at the Colusa County Airport.
The Colusa County Aviation Association hosts the event, which attracts dozens of aircraft from around the state, including some military and other unique planes.
A pancake breakfast is available for $4 starting at 7:30 a.m., and is free to the pilots. Water and soda also will be sold, as will salads for $3 for lunch.
A raffle also will be held.

Memorial walk slated
From 8:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. Sunday, the Prevention Awareness group will be holding a walk for its first A Day in the Park Family Carnival at the One Mile Recreation are of Bidwell Park in Chico.
The carnival runs 10:30 a.m.-4 p.m.

Quilters meeting planned
The Sun Country Quilters Guild will hold its monthly meeting with an Ice Cream Social on Monday.
Beginning at 7 p.m., at the Red Bluff Community and Senior Center, 1500 South Jackson, Red Bluff.

Maywood offers class
Grades third through eighth are invited to Maywood Middle School in Corning, from Monday through Aug. 1.
There will be a two-week program on English language arts, technology, multicultural dance, physical education and nutrition.
Classes will be 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Breakfast and lunch included.

Road closures planned
Union Pacific Railroad has scheduled crossing work and will be followed by paving.
These roads will be closed:
July 22-23: Fifth Street in Tehama will be closed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
July 24-25: San Benito Avenue in Gerber will be closed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
July 29-31: Gerber Road in Gerber will be closed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
