Briefs: CHS baseball selling trees
The Corning High School baseball program is selling Christmas trees from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. on weekdays and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends in the Olive City Quick Lube parking lot at 2046 Solano St.
Healthy Eating Program offered
Learn about A Healthy Total Lifestyle at a workshop from 10:30 a.m.-noon on Friday at the Corning Family Resource Center 1488 South St.
This is part of an ongoing program.
Mommy and Me is Friday
The Tehama County Office of Education will hold its monthly Mommy and Me program from 10-11 a.m. on Friday at the Corning School Readiness Office, 1480 South St.

Scouts holding paper drive
Boy Scouts Troops will be holding a newspaper drive at 9 a.m. today. In case of rain, they will hold it Dec. 8.
Leave papers on the curb.
Anyone living outside the city you can take your papers to Specialized Fibers on South Avenue just west of the railroad tracks. Questions call 824-3240.
Household waste collected
Corning Disposal and Recycling Facility on Highway 99W will be collecting the household hazerdous waste from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday.
The limit is 50 pounds, or five gallons. Keep the products in their original containers.

'Messiah' in Concert
Red Bluff Masterworks Chorale and Orchestra will present Handel's "Messiah," under the direction of Mark Franklin.
It starts at 3 p.m. Sunday at The First Church of God, Luther and South Jackson Streets in Red Bluff.
Donations will be accepted at the door.
Richfield's Lights on 2012
The Richfield Neighborhood Watch Lights on 2012 campaign will be held every Monday night in December to help deter criminal activity during the holiday season.
Christmas mixer in Corning
The 13th annual Corning Christmas Mixer will be held 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Dec. 13 at Premiere West Bank, 1201 Solano St.
There will be appetizers and refreshments, the winners of Christmas Tree Lane, Senior of the Year and the Lighted Christmas Parade will be announced.
