Chamber Chat: Dec. 2

Many people contributed to Hometown success

Another Hometown Christmas has come and gone. The Hometown Christmas Committee spent many hours of planning and working to put on this event and they deserve appreciation for all the hard work. Thanks to Yvonne Boles who was the chairperson who worked with the directors, volunteers and staff to make this a successful event.

Congratulations to the parade winners. They are: Best Marching Unit - Corning Rockettes Dance Team; Best Vehicle - Hall Bros. Mortuary; Best Float - Walberg Inc.; Best Jr. Equestrian - Joshua Day; Best Sr. Equestrian - Rancheros of Corning; Best Theme - Walberg Inc., and Judges Choice - Corning 4-H.

The Chamber would like to thank the City of Corning for all of their help and support for this event. The City workers were very busy and worked hard to get the town ready for the holidays. Downtown Corning was decorated just in time for the event and the City's public works crew installed trees for Christmas Tree Lane. They also installed the holiday banners, outlined public buildings in white lights, and decorated with colored lights, the water tower and the big Christmas tree.

The Chamber also appreciates what the Police and Fire Departments did in helping make Hometown Christmas a wonderful success. We would also like to thank all those who sponsored the trees and banners.

This event could not happen without its major sponsors and we would like to thank those who made major contributions. They are: Bell Carter Olive Company, Butte Community Bank, City of Corning, Corning Fire Department, Corning Observer, Corning Police Department, Corning Rotary Club, Crane Mills, Richard Dunbar D.D.S., Hall Brothers Corning Mortuary, Jamison Properties, Ken's Tax Service, Les Schwab Tires, Oldies 102.1, PremierWest Bank, Ramada Inn, Red Bluff Daily News, Rolling Hills Casino, Round Table Pizza, Specialized Fibers, St. Elizabeth Community Hospital and The Lodge at Rolling Hills.
