PremierWest to hold grand opening week

Corning Car Show - The 12th Annual Corning Car Show last Friday and Saturday, drew many beautiful cars from all around the area and lots of people to town. The Corning Chamber would like to congratulate all the winners: For Stock Car 1954 & older, 1st place, Jack Blanke, 2nd place, Ron Warner, 3rd Place, John McPherson. For Stock Car 1955 -1965: 1st Place Doug McDonald, 2nd Place Ken Edwards, and 3rd Place, Gerald Megee. For Stock Car 1966 & New: 1st Place, Roger Hamanuca, 2nd Place Jere Hale, and 3rd Place Rusty &Stacie Robinett.  For Convertibles 1965 & Older: 1st Prize Richie Arriega, 2nd Place Colette Young, and 3rd Place Wanda Crowe. Modified Cars 1949 & Older: 1st Place Judy Cleveland, 2nd Place Doug Hasse, and 3rd Place Mike Brown. Modified Cars 1950 - 1965: 1st place Juan Palos, 2nd Place William Lee, 3rd Place Billy Paul Sr. Modified 1966 & Newer: 1st Place Jim England, 2nd Place Tom Daugherty, 3rd Place Don Franklin. Convertible 1965 & Newer: 1st Place Roger Hamamura, 2nd Place Nicole Ferroggiaro, and 3rd Place Gary White. Under Construction: 1st Place James Lindell, 2nd Place Dennis Lima, and 3rd Place Colette Young. Tractors: 1st Place Ray Crawford, 2nd Place Charlie Gildea, and 3rd Place Phil Rychard. Modified Trucks 1955 -1965: 1st Place Sandra Lehman. Stock Trucks 1955 & Newer: 1st Place Doug Young, 2nd Place Dan Hamer, 3rd Place Jerry & Jane Prather. Modified Truck 9154 & Older: 1st Place Bud Busworth, 2nd Place Carl Hale, and 3rd Place Robert Irwin. Modified Trucks 1966 & Newer: 1st Place Mike Hackett, 2nd Place Ron Warner, 3rd Place David Margues. Stock Truck 1954 & Older: 1st Place Pete Camper, 2nd Place Bill Kerstiens, and 3rd Place Don Garrison. Stock Motorcycles: 1st Place Dennis Lima. Modified Motorcycles: 1st Place Earl Reynolds, 2nd Place Katie Sullivan and 3rd Place Carl Hamer. Wanda Crowe with her 1960 Hillman won the Mayor's Choice. Participant's Choice went to John Hammer for his 1963 Chevy Corvair. Mike Brown won Chamber Choice for his Willys.  The Burnout winners are Eric Hammond, Wally Prather and Josh Boles.

Grand Opening/Corning in the Evening - This Thursday, May 15, at 5:30 p.m., Celebration Gardens will host our monthly event and this will also be the Grand Opening for this special event venue located at 5051 Toomes Ave., just one mile north of Solano Street. There will be refreshments and door prizes so bring your business card and come out for a fun evening.    

PremierWest Grand Opening Week - May 13 through 19 is PremierWest Bank's Grand Opening Week. Today, May 14, is Cookies and Coffee - come and celebrate by enjoying their freshly baked cookies and fresh coffee. Thursday is Root beer Float Day - come in between 12 and 2 p.m. for free Root Beer Floats. Friday, May 16 is Popcorn and Lemonade Day - come in between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. for free popcorn and lemonade. Next Monday, May 19, is Shred Day - Bring your sensitive documents for shredding by a AAA certified shredding specialist - Chico Shred between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
