FFA'ers get ready

According to Dorinda Walker, Corning High School FFA club reporter, the new officers for the 2010-11 year participated in a weekend retreat at Burney Falls, Aug 14-15.

Most of the time was spent planning meeting dates and activities for the upcoming school year, but the group also got some time to hike to the falls where some officers went for a very cold swim.

Advisor Bob Safford cooked ribs for their Saturday dinner and after dinner, officers enjoyed s'mores while they got more of a chance to get to know one another.

Officers Ryan Henderson, Savannah Miller, Tommi Hammons, Tim Hoffman, Anthony Monroe, Dorinda Walker and Dakoda McFall want all returning and new Corning FFA members to know that they have planned the first event of the year- the FFA Welcome Back Barbecue - for 7:30 p.m. Aug. 30, in front of the Agriculture Dpt., Corning High and encourage all to attend.
