Rummage sale is Saturday
A rummage sale for the Hope Rescue Mission is set for 8 a.m.-3 p.m. today and Sunday at 1577 Fig Lane in Corning.
Furniture, clothing, housewares, collectibles, appliances and other items will be sold.
Guild to hold spaghetti dinner
Our Lady's Guild will hold a spaghetti dinner at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Corning Veterans Memorial Hall.
Tickets are $10 and $5 for children.
Corning swim team sign-ups
The Corning swim team will hold sign-ups from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Maywood School Library.
Registration and insurance fee is $100, plus a reimbursable $100 family fee.
The next sign-ups are scheduled for April 9.
Free household waste pickup
Tehama County will accept household hazardous waste from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday, and March 9 and March 23 at the Highway 99W Corning Disposal site.
Tehama County Landfill on Plymire Road will accept waste from 8 a.m. to noon today and March 16.
Waste items include, among other items, grease, pesticides, fertilizers, oil-based paints, stains, solvents and pool chemicals.

Capay firefighters to host dinner
The 48th annual buffet dinner will be held from 11:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday at the Capay Elementary School, located at Fourth and Cutting avenue.
Tickets are $8 and $5 for children under 12. It is free for preschoolers.

DC Kids holding fundraiser
The 2013 Corning DC Kids will be hosting a tri-tip dinner and raffle at the Corning Veterans Hall at 5 p.m. March 9.
Tickets are $10, and $7 for children under 12 in advance. They are $12 and $9 at the door.
The Boogie Band will be playing bluegrass.

School hosting spaghetti feed
The North Valley Christian Schools 11th annual spaghetti dinner and raffle will begin with an auction preview at 5 p.m., followed by dinner at 5:30 p.m. March 9 at Willows Memorial Hall, 525 W. Sycamore St. Prizes.
Gift certificates and baked goods will be raffled.
Dinner tickets are $20 per family or $5 per person.

UCCE sets Dairy Day
The Glenn County University of California Cooperative Extension has scheduled March 14 as North Valley Dairy Day.
The day will start off at 10 a.m-2 p.m. at the Glenn County Farm Bureau Office, 831 Fifth St. Orland. Registration is free.

Second annual Poker Ride
The Desperado's Grizzly Flats Poker Ride will have sign-ups at 9 a.m. with the ride starting at 10 a.m. March 16.
The cost is $25 for members and $35 for non-members.

Paskenta Community Hall will have a corned beef and cabbage dinner and auction March 16.
Doors open at 5 p.m. and dinner is at 6 p.m. Bring a dessert for the cake wheel.
