Van Doorn graduates from basic training

Army National Guard Pvt. Charles B. Van Doorn, a 2008 Corning High alum, has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

During the nine weeks of training, Van Doorn completed training in military discipline and studies, National Guard core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

He is the son of Charles Van Doorn and Lisa Van Doorn, both of Corning.
