Input needed on watershed plan
The Tehama County Resource Conservation District is pleased to announce the release of the draft Tehama West Watershed Management Plan, and is requesting input from the public on the draft document. A meeting for public comments will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Oct. 28 in the Tehama Room, at the Tehama District Fairground in Red Bluff.
The Tehama West Watershed Management Plan project was conducted to identify possible watershed improvement projects and gaps in knowledge of the Tehama West Watershed area, which includes the watersheds of Thomes Creek, Elder Creek, Red Bank Creek and Reeds Creek. The Management Plan is based on the Tehama West Watershed Assessment, a collection of all known sources of information and analysis pertaining to the watershed area’s resources. Those resources include: climate, geology, soils and hydrology, water quality, vegetation, wildlife and fisheries resources as well as fire history, fuels and fire management.
The entire watershed management plan document can be found and downloaded at the Tehama County Resource Conservation District’s website http://www.tehamacountyrcd.org/. A copy of the document can also be obtained from the TCRCD office at 2 Sutter Street, Suite D, Red Bluff, CA. For more information call the TCRCD office: 530-527-3013, ex. 3.
