Tell us about a life-changing experience: In 1977, I got invited to a wedding reception, met my husband, and Dec. 10, we celebrated our 34th wedding anniversary.
What is something unique about you? My husband and family say I make the best pie crust ever.
Whom do you most admire and why? Mildred Lee, a long-time resident. She is always happy and always thinking bout other people and what she could do for them.
What brought you/family to this area? My dad's job brought us to Orland and when I married James, he lived in Corning and we raised our family here.
What's your guilty pleasure? A cup of hot cocoa and popcorn before bed.
Favorite places to go in the area? Black Butte Lake, Good News Lighthouse Church
What is the best advice you have ever received? Life is not a prison. If you don't like your situation, get out of it.
Most embarrassing moment: I was learning to skate and started falling, and landed in a guy's lap.
If you were going to donate time/money locally, where would it go toward? Getting the theater reopened and Corning Christian Assistance.
Favorite food: Big juicy, homemade hamburger
Closest you've been to a famous person: I shook hands with Tommy and Dick Smothers, and got my picture taken with them.
Favorite musical group and why: I like a lot of different groups. Don't have a favorite.
Favorite movie and why: "Office Space"; every time I watch it, I laugh and because I see the reality in it.
