Briefs: Bedford anniversary party set
John and Phyllis Bedford and inviting friends and family to their 65th annivesary party at 6 p.m. on Saturday, at the Paskenta Community Hall, 13140 Toomes Camp Road.
The couple met in Paskenta in 1946 and still live in the area, of which John is a native.
The potluck dinner will be $5 per couple or $3 a person; kids are free. Those who attend are asked to bring a side dish and their own drink. Kitchen help will be appreciated.
Gray Lodge volunteers sought
Gray Lodge Wildlife Area is seeking volunteers, 18 or older, to take part in the annual Wood Duck Nest Box Program — the largest in the state.
Crews collect data and maintain the habitat areas. Work takes three to four hours in the morning, and is conducted bi-weekly from April to July.
An orientation will be held 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 17 at Gray Lodge, off Pennington Road, about 8 miles southwest of Gridley.

Richfield sets ham dinner
The Richfield community is holding its 55th annual Ham Dinner and Auction on March 10, with dinner served from 4-6 p.m. and the auction beginning at 6:30.
The fundraiser benefits the Richfield Parent Teacher Organization and will be held at Richfield Elementary School, 23875 River Road.
Animal health meeting slated
Sponsored by the University of California Cooperative Extension, the annual Winter Animal Health Meeting will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, at the Shasta Livestock Auction Yard in Cottonwood.
Topics will include bovine respitory disease, biotechnology use in feedlots, pneumonia, artificial insemination and mineral supplements. Dinner will be provided by Vic's Branding Iron.

Colusa High School Class of 1962 will hold their 50th reunion in Reno August 3-4.

Wine festival is Feb. 24
The Corning Rotary Club's annual Wine, Food & Art Festival will be held from 4-10 p.m. Friday and noon to 8 p.m. Saturday, at Rolling Hills Casino Carlino's Event Center.
Wine and beer tasting will be featured at the festival, as well as a clam chowder cook-off, casino chef's cooking demonstrations, and art display from members of the Red Bluff Art Association, Tehama County Photography Club, and Corning Union High School students.
Admission is $10 per day, and includes a wine glass, first wine tasting drink, and $5 free slot play.
Weatherization services offered
Tehama County Community Action Agency is offering weatherization services on a limited basis for elderly, disabled and low-income homeowners within Tehama County.
Applicants must qualify within income guidelines for the program.
