Christmas tree disposal
Corning has a wood waste bin available in front of the corporation yard at 1106 Butte St. for free disposal of Christmas trees.
Please remove all decorations. The service is available until Jan.11.

Free electronic waste collection
Tehama County Landfill will accept electronic waste from 8 a.m.-noon today.
Televisions, computer monitors, microwaves, DVD/VCR players, cellphones and other small electronics are accepted at no cost.
The waste will be collected at the Park and Ride Commuter parking lot at Third and Solano streets in Corning, and at 310 S. Main St. in Red Bluff.
Some items are not accepted. For information, call 528-1103.
Mommy and Me is Jan. 11
The Tehama County Department of Education will hold a Mommy and Me class from 10 a.m.-11 a.m. Jan. 11 at the Corning School Readiness office, 1480 South St.
The class focuses on families with babies under 2.
Auction to help youth
American Legion Post No. 45 will hold auctions on Jan. 12 to raise money for youth projects.
The silent auction starts at 10 a.m., and the live auction kicks off at 11 at the Corning Veterans Memorial Hall, 1620 Solano St.
Hot dogs, chips, punch and coffee will be served for $3.
Tree-pruning workshop offered
The University of California Master Gardeners Program is offering a fruit tree pruning workshop from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on Jan. 12 at Mills Orchards, 7782 County Road 16, just west of Hamilton City.
There is a $20 registration fee.
