Lopez graduates from training with honors
Pfc. John L. Lopez III, a Corning High alum, has graduated from basic military training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina.
During the ten-week program, Lopez completed training in military discipline and studies, U.S. Army core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Lopez was recognized as Outstanding Soldier Leader of the Cycle, for Company C2nd Battalion 60th Infantry, and he also received a medal for Military Achievement.
Lopez is a 2003 graduate of Corning High. He is married to Laura and they have a son William. He is the son of John and Henrietta Lopez, of Corning, and grandson of John and Alice Lopez, of Corning, and Henry Pitts, of Colusa.
