Business spotlight
The chamber spotlight is on Tri-Counties Furniture, 1102 South St. in Corning owned and operated by Jodie Hughes. Jodi opened the store two and a half years ago and has been a member of the chamber since opening. Tri-Counties Furniture sells new household furniture and mattresses. Jodie said that mattresses are a big seller at the store. She also has gift items for sale. Jodie said that she averages 25 percent less on retail prices compared to other places and if a person orders from the catalog they can get an additional 20 percent off. The couches that she carries are all handmade in Northern California. Normally orders come within two weeks. They deliver free within 15 miles of the store.
Jodie is married and has three children, 7, 5 and 3 years old. She came to Corning seven years ago from Chico and had a secondhand store before she opened Tri-Counties Furniture. The store is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. The phone number for the store is 824-5398, or you may call 520-5424.
