Chamber Chat: Nov. 18

Spotlight helps others with tax services

Pat's Tax Service is the Corning Chamber of Commerce's spotlight this week. The business is located at 1915 Solano St. in Corning and the phone number is 824-5011. Business hours are from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday during the off-season, and during tax season, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday - Friday and Saturday by appointment.

Owner Pat Dover has been in business for seventeen years and has been a Corning Chamber member for all seventeen years. She does bookkeeping, payroll reports, income tax preparations and notary service. Pat has four employees during tax season and none the rest of the year.

When asked what she would like people to know about her business, Pat said. "We provide year-round service at reasonable prices. More and more the government is requiring electronic filing of different forms. Soon everything will be filed over the Internet and it is quite a challenge (the average person) to keep up on all the changes."

Pat is recently widowed after 42 years of marriage. They have two children, Veronica Dover M.S. LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist) - she lives in Southern California with her husband Brian and two cats - and son Robert Dover who is a self-employed lawn maintenance man who lives in Red Bluff with his wife Cindy and daughter Lynda. Robert also has two other children, Shane and Ryan. Grandson Ryan has an 18-month old daughter, Ashton.

If you need tax preparation, payroll reports, or notary service, call Pat at 824-5011.
