Corning High Choir to perform
The Corning Union High School Choir will arrive at the Senior Center at 10 a.m. on Dec. 5 to brighten the day with Holiday Cheer. Lunch will be provided by Senior Nutrition, the menu will be scalloped potatoes, ham, carrots and strawberries with a suggested donation of $2.75 for seniors and $6 for non seniors. A RSVP is required 824-4727.
Santa Claus is coming
Santa will be arriving at the Corning Senior Center just in time for the annual Christmas party to be held at 10 a.m. on Dec. 21 and lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. We will have a turkey dinner donated by the Corning Volunteer Fire Department and local merchants with a small cost of $5 to our local seniors. A Christmas Card exchanged has been planned for Senior to spread good cheer to one another. Santa will be stopping in for photographs and a special candy cane delivery to every senior. All proceeds from this event will go towards heating costs for the winter. The Maywood Woman's Club will also be there with their bread and jam gift bags and to help serve the seniors in attendance.
By light of the silvery moon
A New Year's Eve party will run from 5 to 9 p.m. on Dec. 3. The theme "By Light of the Silvery Moon" was the inspiration of Doug Frink with seniors in mind and fond memories of the catchy tune. Tickets are on sale for $12 each or $20. Per couple. There were will be a Prime Rib dinner will be prepared by senior volunteers. Stay tuned for more details.
Adopt a senior
Adopt a senior for senior nutrition. Wouldn't it be great to collect funds to help support this very important program and raise the red in the thermometer in time for Christmas.
