    Laurel Jean Singletary of Corning, and Jason Titus Johnson of Red Bluff, wed June 19, 2010, at a private residence in Corning.

    The bride is the daughter of Bob and Jan Singletary, of Corning. She is a California State University, Chico graduate, holding a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture.

    After studying abroad as a student in the Basque Country of Spain and Costa Rica, Laurel backpacked through Central America prior to returning to the states.

    The groom is the son of Phil Johnston, of Red Bluff. Jason enlisted in the Army in 2002 and served four tours in Iraq and one in Afghanistan. He retired as a Staff Sergeant in 2008, receiving a Combat Infantry Badge, a Purple Heart and an Army Accommodation with Valor along with other awards and metals. Jason is currently is an instructor for the Department of Defense.

    Laurel and Jason were friends for eleven years prior to their wedding. Currently, they are residing in North Carolina with plans to relocate in California.
