Carpet store still laying
Corning Carpet Store, 811 Fifth Street, (across from the fire hall), has been in business in Corning for 13 years. It is a family-owned business with father Bill Norried, son Jeff Norried and daughter-in-law Melissa.
Josh Sharp is also employed as an installer who has been laying carpet and flooring with Jeff for many years.
Melissa said that both men are excellent installers and have had a lot of experience. Melissa does the buying and works in the store in the afternoons while her father-in-law works in the mornings. She is always looking out for the best prices, and purchases seconds and dropped products, so she can offer great deals.
The store carries vinyl, carpet and laminate. They also have some vinyl and laminate that is only 99 cents a square foot.
“We take pride in our work and have worked hard to build up a reputation in the community,” said Melissa.
Melissa came to Corning 13 years ago and started working at the carpet store soon afterwards. She said that she loves the Corning community and it is a great place to raise her children, ages 16 and 12.
She said that she appreciates the Corning community for its helping spirit and she loves Corning so much that she plans to retire here. For new flooring, whether carpet, vinyl or laminate, come in and see what Corning Carpet has to offer. Details: 824-0311.
