Chamber News: July 7

Come to get-together

Interland Business & Gifts, 1122 Solano St., will host the monthly evening get-together at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, July 8. These monthly events give businesses the opportunity to showcase what they have to offer so all are welcomed. Come and see what Renae Beckley and mother Penny Blanchard, co-owners of the store, have to offer in the way of services and supplies. Bring business cards for a chance to win a door prize. Refreshments will be served.

Seminar on money matters

Lisa Rodriguez, an Edward Jones Financial advisor in Corning, is sponsoring "A Woman's Journey toward Financial Independence" from 11 a.m. — 1 p.m. Saturday, July 17, at 1415 Solano St.  A healthy lunch will be included.

Fountain said, "We hope to help identify and prioritize your goals, develop a strategy for starting a budget, overcome challenges, understand the effects of inflation, and taxes and most importantly be able to talk to a financial professional," said Fountain. "I think this is such a great opportunity for us as women with our unique financial challenges.  In general, women earn less, live longer, spend fewer years in the work force. We must confront the 'what-if' factor."

There will be an opportunity for question and answers as well. For details and/or to reserve a spot, call Patti at Fountain of Health at 689-0222 or Cindy at Edward Jones at 824-4290.

Remember grand opening

Just a reminder that all are invited to the River Valley Community Outreach Center Grand Opening from 10 a.m. — 2 p.m. Saturday, July 10, at 290 Virginia St., Gridley.

This new Outreach Center was created to help families stay in their homes, reduce the size of landfills, and connect the over-stocked with the under-resourced. They have tile, grout doors, cabinets, sinks, windows and more, all at the price of a donation! Details: 701-4462.

Live music at pool park

Live music is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., every Saturday, at the Northside Park, 1400 block of Colusa Street. There will be a variety of music performed by different artists. Saturday's band will be "Alejandra Villa Senor."

There will also be a concession stand to purchase snacks and refreshments; proceeds of which will go toward refurbishing Rodger's Theatre.

Come out and enjoy some free musical entertainment in the park and plan to buy some snacks to help bring back our theater.

Festival needs sponsors

The Chamber is looking for businesses interested in sponsoring the up-coming Olive Festival, August 27 and 28. For those who have not received a sponsorship letter and are interested in sponsoring this event, contact the chamber at 824-5550.

For those who cannot be a sponsor at this time, there is the opportunity to advertise in the Olive Festival Sponsor Book at a very inexpensive rate.

Sponsor book information will be sent this week and the chamber looks forward to your response. We appreciate all the businesses that generously support the three major chamber events because we cannot hold these events for the community without your help. Our hard work pays off by providing wonderful community events, which bring hundreds of people, from all over, to our town.
