Students of the Month
Corning Exchange Club has selected their Students of the Month for May, they are:
Fifth-grade student Angela Diaz, of Olive View School, is pictured with teacher Carrie Holiman and her parents are Alicia and Robert Diaz. Diaz's favorite subject is math and she participates in volleyball. She has received an Academic Achievement award all three trimesters this year and she is part of the 900,000+ Words reading group. Diaz would like to go to college some day and become a nurse.
Eighth-grade student Nicole Graham, 13, of Maywood Junior High School, is pictured with teacher Marna Whitley and her parents are Perry and Wanda Stout. She enjoys reading and her favorite school subjects are science, history and English. She is a member of the California Junior Scholarship Federation and Avid. Following high school, Graham would like to go to Simpson College and get a bachelor's degree in science.
Senior Ramon Banda, 18, of Corning Centenial High School, is pictured with teacher Teresa Lamb. Banda considers himself to be a hard worker and plans to take a year off after graduating from school and save some money so he can attend college. His hobbie is working on cars and his favorite class this year was working as a ROP student at Corning Ford.
Senior Felicia Fulmer, of Corning Union High School, is pictured with teacher Kendalle Jones and her parent is Debra Stokes. She has been the captain of the cheerleading squad and is a member of the honor roll. Her favorite subject is art, particularly when working with water colors. This summer, Fulton plans to move to Reno, Nevada and enroll in the Northern Nevada Dental Association Program.
