Police Logs: June 27, 2009

June 17

Daniel Dale Lamberton, 47, of Corning was arrested at 12:40 p.m. following a traffic accident at Solano and Marguerite avenues on suspicion of driving under the influence. He was booked into the Tehama County Jail.


June 18

Judy Howery reported the window to her van, parked in the 300 block of Marguerite Avenue, was smashed in. Estimated loss is $200.

Jennifer Robin Grundy, 33, of Corning was arrested at 2:29 p.m., following a traffic stop at Highway 99W and Donnovan Avenue, on suspicion of being in possession of a controlled substance. Grundy was booked into the Tehama County Jail.

Juan Manuel Barajas, 43, of Corning was arrested at 9:47 p.m., following a traffic stop at Solano and Second streets, on suspicion of driving under the influence. Barajas was booked into the Tehama County Jail.

Department at 11:14 p.m. assisted with a fire at West Street School. Case opened.


June 19

Department at 12:03 a.m. assisted with a van on fire in the 2100 block of Fig Lane. Case opened.

Richard James Castro, 29, of Corning was arrested at 1:19 a.m. on the 200 block of Toomes Avenue on suspicion of threatening his spouse with a knife, and on warrant charges for driving under the influence. Castro was booked into the Tehama County Jail in lieu of $60,500 bail.


Saturday

Thomas Jacob Bartlett, 69, of Corning was arrested at 3:35 p.m., following a traffic stop at Woodson and South avenues, on suspicion of willfully failing to yield for a traffic stop and driving on a suspended license. He was booked into the Tehama County Jail in lieu of $11,900 bail.

Carie Lyn Smith, 37, of Corning was arrested at 10:06 p.m. near the Green Doors on suspicion of being drunk in public. She was booked into the Tehama County Jail.


Sunday

Nancy Mattos reported her purse was taken from her shopping cart at Sav-Mor grocery store. Case opened.

Robert Brian reported the theft of his Dell Latitude laptop computer in the 200 block of Edith Avenue.

Conrrado Castizo, 34, of Corning was arrested at 11:27 p.m., following a traffic stop near the Critter Care, on suspicion of driving under the influence. He was booked into the Tehama County Jail.


Tuesday

Ray Wettengel reported vandalism to his vehicle parked in the 100 block of Mobile Drive. Estimated loss is $300.


Wednesday

Whitney Lopez reported the theft of a newspaper stand from the front of the post office. Estimated loss is $400.

Jonah Micah Johnson, 20, transient, was arrested at 11:16 a.m. near Safeway on suspicion of receiving stolen property. He was booked into the Tehama County Jail in lieu of $10,000.
