Corning Chamber of Commerce update

Red Truck Rock offers more for your home

Red Truck Rock Yard is the Corning Chamber of Commerce business spotlight for the week. They are located at 2791 Highway 99W in Corning, phone number 824-2418. Red Truck Rock Yard is run by husband and wife Bud and Jaimie Walberg.  They also own and operate Walberg, Inc. which currently has 13 employees. Red Truck Rock Yard is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Red Truck Rock Yard has been in business for one and a half years and Walberg Inc. for 10 years.

Red Truck Rock is a decorative landscape yard with everything you need to create the perfect outdoor setting. They have every type of decorative rock imaginable from boulders, flagstone, tumbled stone, gold, purple, green and rainbow colors, just to name a few. With Bud and Jaimie also owning Walberg Inc. they are able to place any large boulders or spread any rock you need for your home improvement project with the tractors they own. Delivery is available on all of their products.  They also have topsoil, fill dirt, organic compost and manure for all of your gardening wishes, along with bark and decomposed granite. They have construction rock, sand and u-cart concrete trailers along with a full line of concrete tools for all of your home improvement projects. Retaining walls, pavers, stepping-stones and edging are also available for those finishing touches. To create the most serene waterscape for your yard they stock a relaxing waterfall, fountain, and pond in a box. They come with everything you need for easy installation.  Red Truck Rock Yard also has a wonderful gift shop full of locally hand carved bears, locally hand painted birdhouses, and many other locally handmade crafts. They also have John Deere decorations and knick knacks to brighten your yard or home. Next time you need a present, think of Red Truck Rock Yard. Gift certificates are available also. Bud and Jaimie were both raised in Corning. They moved away to attend school and follow other business opportunities. When they knew what they wanted to do, they moved back to Corning to start their own business. They support other local small businesses and believe that the small businesses are what make Corning such a wonderful place to live and raise a family. They have one daughter, Mikayla who is entering the seventh grade at Maywood School. She is active in basketball, tennis and youth bowling. Jaimie's mother, Patti Brogden, has been a local tole painter for many years and has taught classes here in Corning as well as Chico. She painted all the hand-painted crafts that are in the gift shop. The Walberg family plans to expand both of their businesses in the future. They enjoy sponsoring the local youth sports teams, the high school golf tournament, purchasing livestock at the fair from our local 4-H/FFA members and anything improving their community. They also enjoy the youth-adult bowling league here in town, boating, camping, barbecuing with friends and spending time with their many pets.

Corning in the evening

Thank you, Round Table Pizza, for hosting a wonderful Corning in the Evening last Thursday. Approximately 45 people enjoyed some great-tasting food and there were some nice door prizes given away, as well as coupons given out to everyone.
