Corning Chamber of Commerce reports: May 27

Double M Video is the Chamber's business spotlight of the week. Double M Video, 1216 Solano St. in Corning is owned and operated by Mike and Mary Shreve who opened for business in Dec. 2001. They have been chamber members since opening. They have two other employees that work at the store. Double M Video is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day except Sunday when they open at 11 a.m. 

Double M Video offers a variety of movies and they special order hard to find movies for the public. They do disc repair for games, CDs or any disc and they carry Blu-Ray discs. The "midweek madness" gets you cheaper new releases. If you get two new releases you receive free popcorn, every day except Wednesday and Thursday. A new promotion started last week; you may rent any new releases and get one general title for free. Ask about their packages that offer movies for less than a dollar a day.  Double M Video offers friendly service and they encourage you to come and see what they have to offer. They have a variety of candy for sale and are the largest Jelly Belly seller in town with some awesome flavors for your enjoyment. Mike and Mary have been married almost 37 years and have two children. Their daughter, husband, and two grandsons live in Kirkwood. Mike and Mary enjoy fishing, hiking, boating, camping; anything outdoors when they are not working. The Corning Chamber of Commerce encourages you to shop in Corning to support your local businesses and the local economy when you can. Miss Rodeo Queen will be crowned that evening and the Little Miss Rodeo Pageant and Stick Horse Races will take place. Friday's event begins at 7 p.m. and 5 p.m. Saturday. The Farmer's Market is back again at 5 p.m. on Fridays, starting June 12.  If you are interested in having a booth you may contact Sonja at 736-1702. Harvest Christian Center, 1006 Sixth St., will be having a free Summer Kid's Club starting June 11, which will run every Thursday until August 13. There will be Bible lessons, crafts, games, music, and snacks. To pre-register children entering kindergarten to fifth grade in the fall, call 824-2091.
