Recycle those electronics

Televisions, computer equipment, microwave ovens and other small electronics can be turned in at the electronic waste collection event held from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 31, at the "Park and Ride," corner of Solano and Third streets.

The community is encouraged to turn such items in, for free at this e-waste collection event, as the toxicity of lead, mercury , cadmium and other substances sometimes found in electronic equipment is an environmental concern.

Future e-waste collection events will be held the last Saturday of each month for the remainder of this year, on the following dates: Aug. 28, Sept. 25, Oct. 30, and Nov. 27.
