TC honored women

The nonpartisan awards were given by the Tehama County Democrats as part of their 100 Years Strong event held Sunday, Oct. 9, which celebrated the 100th anniversary of California women's right to vote.

Nearly 100 people attended the occasion at which Yee, of the state Board of Equalization, spoke.

Nominees also honored were Jackie Baker, Ruth Deike, Pat-Houck Talbert, Lana Kitchel, Gail Locke, Barbara McIver, Melissa Mendonca, June Quincy and Sharon Wickenheiser.

Award winner Rosemarie Boitano was unable to attend.
