Celebrating Pioneer history
Tuesday, Jul 27 2010, 5:21 pm
Members of the Corning congregation of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints didn't have to come in ox-pulled wagons or by handcart to attend a celebration of the church's pioneer history on Saturday at the church building on Marguerite Avenue. But come they did to eat breakfast and play games, including a tug-o-war competition enjoyed by young and old alike. The event commemorated the arrival of the church's first pioneer group to the Salt Lake Valley in Utah 163 years-ago.
