Man stabbed at Corning shop

Corning Police are looking for two suspects driving a black older model Honda Civic who stabbed a man three times in the Liquor Cabinet II parking lot on Hwy 99W, Friday at 4 p.m.

Brian James Jobe, 30, of Corning, told police he had pulled into the business’ parking lot and had just got out of his car when the Honda drove up, a male Hispanic got out of the car, then walked up and stabbed him three times with what appeared to be a small knife.

Jobe said the suspect got back into the front passenger seat of the Honda Civic, driven by a female, and fled the scene, according to Corning Police Detective Mel Allison.

“We don’t know the motive at this point,” said Allison.

Jobe suffered a stab wound to his upper right arm, right elbow, and a small stab wound to his abdomen. He was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment.

Corning Police Sergeant Ralph Schmidt on Tuesday reported that a lone suspect has been identified as the attacker, and that witnesses to the crime have also been identified and are being sought for information.

Sure, its scary that this could be a random attack, but that's not likely. For the most part, people don't randonly stab strangers. So if that's not the case, the victim needs to do the right thing and tell police what he knows.
