Fire destroys Corning family’s home

No one home at time of blaze

An early morning structure fire Sunday did extensive damage to a double-wide mobile home just outside of Corning.

According to the Tehama County Fire Department, a neighbor reported the fire at 23645 McLane Ave. at approximately 12:40 a.m., and the structure was 75 percent involved when the first responders arrived.

The owner was listed as an L. Salorio, but nobody was home at the time of the blaze.

Damage to the structure was estimated to be $200,000.

The Corning Volunteer Fire Department assisted on the fire, the cause of which was still under investigation Monday afternoon.
