Cemetery offers “Flowers of the Forest”

A new place to observe the memory of a loved one is now available at Sunset Hill Cemetery.

The creation of "Flowers of the Forest," offers an area for the remains of those who have chosen cremation, said Bill Reynolds, manager of the cemetery located on Oren Avenue.

Two flowing fountains amid a winding concrete walkway in a forest of evergreen trees and colorful flowers adds a beautiful backdrop to a setting where a wide variety of cremation garden planters are available.

"The planters are replicated boulders with space for a metal plaque which will provide information about the person being honored," Reynolds said.

He said the boulders can each contain a completely weather-protected cremains urn for the ashes of the deceased.

Sitting benches will soon be added to Flowers of the Forest as the project continues.
