Mutts, music join forces at festival

Bring your paws, claws, and hooves Saturday and join Second Chance Pet Rescue for its second annual Music for Mutts Festival.

“We are celebrating our seventh anniversary of being at the Corning Animal Shelter with a lot of fun, food and music,” said Debbie Eaglebarger of Second Chance Pet Rescue.

The event will run from noon to 5 p.m. at the Corning Veterans Memorial Hall, 1620 Solano St., and will feature a free concert by The Blackletter Brothers Band.

Along with the music there will be used books and crafts booths, food, and drawings for prizes including a 26-inch flat screen television.

“This is a great opportunity for people to come and meet those who volunteer for Second Chance Pet Rescue and to meet some of our fabulous dogs from the shelter,” Eaglebarger said.

Music for Mutts is a major fundraiser for Second Chance. The funds will be used to expand Second Chance’s humane animal education in schools, people and dog training classes, and replenish the “Weaver Medical Fund” for sick and injured animals that come though the doors of the Corning Animal Shelter.

Second Chance Pet Rescue is a non-profit corporation dedicated to helping injured and unwanted pets and the education of pet treatment and care.
