Crime Reports: Man charged with narcotics possession
Corning police officers arrested Robert Joseph Cassidy, 31, of Corning, at 11:10 p.m. on Monday, following a traffic stop for a bicycle lighting violation on Blossom Avenue at Blossom Lane.
Police reported that during the stop, Cassidy was found to be in possession of four schedule II narcotic pills for which he did not have a prescription, a hypodermic needle and syringe determined to be illegal drug paraphernalia.
Cassidy was also wanted on three outstanding warrants for his arrest out of Tehama County, officers said.
The suspect was booked into the Tehama County Jail on suspicion of possession of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia and the warrants. Bail was set at $39,000.

On Monday, Tehama County Sheriff's deputies responded to the 5600 block of Highway 99W near Corning to take a report of a grand theft from Franklin Johnson, 39, who said someone came onto his property and stole 14 pallets of large landscape rock sometime between Dec. 1 and Jan. 1, deputies said.
According to deputies, Johnson had been out of town on business since before Dec. 1, and his business was closed during that time. Loss is estimated at $7,000.
Sheriff's investigators are actively investigating the incident and said arrests are hopeful.

Pete Dagorret, 58, of Richfield, reported to sheriff's deputies the theft of a 2008 Honda Rancher ATV from his unlocked garage on Napa Road, on Feb. 17 between 6 p.m. and midnight. Loss is estimated at $4,000.
