The Corning Exchange Club presented with certificates of achievement and pen and pencil sets to October Students of the Month, left to right, Maywood eighth-grader Jose Gonzalez (with teacher Mr. Ago); Corning High senior Savannah Miller (with teacher Kurt Williams), and Centeniaal High senior Alex Marin (with grandpartents Alejandro and Candelaria Marin). Gonzalez is on the school soccer team, and his goal is to be a professional soccer player and an engineer. Miller is a member of FFA and CSF, the Junior Livestock Association, and takes her pigs to livestock shows. Her goal is to go to UC Berkeley where she plans to major in animal science and become a veterinarian. Marin active in wood shop, soccer, football and boxing. His goal is to enter the field of forestry.
