Moore wins second main event, Simas captures sprints
For the second time this year, Mason Moore of Princeton is the main event champion at Silver Dollar Speedway.
Moore won the 410 sprint car division Friday, earning the pole position and leading on every lap of the 25-lap main event.
The win is the second of the year for Moore, who is entering his senior year at Princeton High School.
Moore ranks third in the point standings at Silver Dollar Speedway with 619 points. Andy Forsberg leads the overall standings with 690 points while Sean Becker has 681. Jonathan Allard is fourth with 485 points.
Moore has 15 starts this year and has five top five finishes and 11 top 10 finishes. He also has three heat wins.
Moore won his first main event of the year on April 11.
Meanwhile Taylor Simas of Orland won his fourth wingles sprints feature of the season with a victory on Friday.
Simas, a 2007 graduate of Hamilton High School, edged Terry Schank Jr. for first place in the sprints.
Simas is second in the overall points standings with 1,128 points. Keith Bloom leads with 1,173 points. Simas has four wins in 26 starts. he also has 15 top five finishes and 24 top 10 finishes. Simas has won six heats.
