Providence drops finale in Paradise

It was a battle of jungle cats in Paradise on Tuesday, but it was the sharp claws of the Paradise Adventist Cougars that left their mark on the Lions from Providence Christian by handing the visitors a 55-24 defeat to end the season.

Paradise Adventist is the undefeated Pioneer-Valley League champion at 10-0 (18-6 overall), while Providence finished with a record of 7-14, and went 4-6 in the PVL.

Sophomore Peter Sayegh netted a game-high 14 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double, and teammate Coulson Williams scored in double figures with 12 points.

Matthew Reese led the Lions with 13 points and fours steals, Seth Danley put up nine points, and Tucker Hoffman was their top glass cleaner with seven rebounds.

Jacob Skelton helped out with a pair of assists.
