NorCal Aquatics swimmers place well in meets

Six swimmers from NorCal Aquatics came away with high-point trophies last weekend in both Gridley and Redding.

At the Gridley Invitational, Makeylee Lindsey, swimming in the 9-10 girls  group, won the 100-yard individual medley, 200 freestyle, 100 freestyle, 50 butterfly, 100 backstroke, 50 backstroke and 50 freestyle. She was second in the 50 breaststroke and 100 butterfly and third in the 100 breaststroke.

Zach Pritchard, swimming in the 11-12 boys group, won the 500 freestyle, 100 freestyle, 50 butterfly, 50 breaststroke, 100 individual medley, 100 butterfly, 100 breaststroke and 50 freestyle. He was second in the 100 backstroke and 50 freestyle.

Emily Wolder, swimming in the 8-and-under girls group, won the 100 individual medley, 100 freestyle, 50 butterfly, 50 breaststroke, 25 butterfly, 25 breaststroke and 50 freestyle. She was second in the 25 freestyle and 25 and 50 backstrokes.

One other event winner in Gridley was Jenni Perez, 500 freestyle, in the 15-18 girls division.

At the SFI Insurance Trophy B/A+ Swim Meet held at Redding Aquatic Park, NorCal Aquatics was led by 14-year-old Cypress Lampe, winning the 400- and 200-meter freestyles and 200 breaststroke. She was second in the 100 breaststroke, freestyle and Butterfly.

Twelve-year-old Molly Bateman earned her high point award by winning the 200 backstroke, and coming in with silver in the 200 and 400 individual medleys and 400 freestyle.

Hayden Lampe was sixth overall in the 10-and-under girls group, earning her high point award by winning the 100 breaststroke and coming in second in the 50 breaststroke.

Other earning points in the Redding Meet were Kasey Foley, Veronica Foley, Jenni Perez, Mindi Perez and Kayla Strand.
