Varsity Boys Basketball

Greenville 50, Los Molinos 46

The Bulldogs were out-scored 7-0 in the first quarter at Greenville on Tuesday, and lost despite a 46-43 scoring advantage the rest of the way.

A.J. Long earned game-scoring honors with 19 points for the Bulldogs. Ramiro Castellon followed with nine, and Los Molinos got six apiece from Jesus Castillo and Jordan Gumm.

Walker Meyers scored 15 points to lead the Indians, and Tony Rogers made a 13-point contribution.

Both players also polished off double-doubles, Rogers by grabbing 13 rebounds and Meyers, 11.

Boys Soccer

Pleasant Valley 3, Corning 0

The Cardinals were blanked for the second time this season when Pleasant Valley shut them out at home on Tuesday.

Jake Lopez, Ian Melton and Nick Lopez scored for the Vikings.

Williams 5, Los Molinos 1

The Bulldogs (2-2) were held to Gabby Sanchez's lone goal in the second half at home on Tuesday.

Alfonso Langarica helped out with an assist, and Ramon Pena made five saves.

Williams (4-2-1) netted a pair in the first half and added three in the second.

Salvador Ramirez found the back of the net twice for the 'Jackets, with Alex Gomez, Johnny Santos and Joseph Alva pitching in with goals.

Girls Soccer

Pleasant Valley 8, Corning 0

It was one of those days for the Lady Cardinals at home on Tuesday, as the visiting Vikings scored four goals in each half.

Laney Nelson scored half of Pleasant Valley's goals, and Grace Hernandez booted a pair. Lexi Martinez and Allyce Warren also found the back of the net for the Vikings.

JV Wrestling

West Valley 45, Corning 30

Allen Cervantes (113 pounds) Alex DeJesus (120), Coy Parker (138), Quinton Jones (220) and Braulio Ruiz (285) won by pins for the Cardinals at home on Wednesday.

The Cardinals forfeited at 106, 126 and 132, while both sides forfeited at 195.

"Quinton Jones was the outstanding wrestler," said coach Cort Mitchell. "He was matched up with a pretty tough kid and after taking about a minute to size him up, was able to put him to his back and pin him."

Corning is wrestling Saturday in the West Valley JV Tournament.

Frosh/Soph wrestling

Alejandro Valdovinos (113 pounds), Austin Cunningham (145) and Cody Evans (220) all pinned their opponents on Tuesday, while Jacob Tubbs (120) won by an 8-3 decision.
